On November 29th, a construction site safety accident occurred in Okinawa, Japan. Three workers were hit by cables falling from a height of over 150 meters at the demolition site of the Okinawa Yamahara Seawater Pumping Power Plant in Anpo, Kotou Village, Okinawa. Two of them were rescued but ultimately died.

According to on-site staff, a cable weighing 350 kilograms was being lifted by a crane at the time. Unexpectedly, when the crane reached a height of about 150 meters, the cable suddenly fell and hit three workers operating below. The police rushed to the scene one hour after the incident, and doctors conducted emergency rescue, but two of them were dead.
It is reported that the site where the accident occurred is a seawater power plant called Okinawa Yamahara Seawater Pumping Power Plant. It was fully subsidized by the then Japanese Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 1999 and is located at an altitude of 132 meters. The total labor cost is about 35.4 billion yen (approximately 2.3 billion yuan). Due to demand, cost, and other reasons, the power plant was abolished. In fact, as early as 2016, the operation of this power plant had already stopped. However, the demolition work was delayed and did not take action until September this year. I did not expect such an accident to occur.

The weight of the cable itself is extremely large. Whether it is during laying, maintenance, or dismantling, it is necessary to pay attention to safety and strictly follow the work requirements. This is not only responsible for one's own safety, but also for the safety of the surrounding people.
Shenghua Cable Group mainly produces high and low voltage cross-linked cables, power cables (YJV, YJV22, YJLV), distribution wires (BV, BVR, RVV, RVS), aluminum alloy cables (YJLHV), overhead cables, flame-retardant and fire-resistant cables, rubber sheathed cables, control cables (KVV), special cables and other products
