In early September, a joyful event for Chinese people was the successful trial production of Asia's first 66kV high-voltage wind power twisted flexible cable!
This product has an outer diameter of 105mm and is suitable for wind turbines of 8MW and above in Shanghai. This is another major breakthrough for Chinese cable companies in the design and manufacturing of high-voltage twisted cables for offshore high-power wind turbines, following the 35kV wind power torsion resistant flexible cables. This is the first in Asia and the second in the world.
With the increasing capacity of offshore wind turbines, the originally 33KV cables are no longer able to meet the demand, and the market urgently needs cables with higher voltage levels to be put into use. In this environment, some European countries have taken the lead in trying to produce cables with higher voltage levels.
The UK is at the forefront of technology, and its Blyth offshore demonstration wind farm uses on-site cables with a voltage level of up to 66KV, making it the first wind farm in the world to achieve such a high voltage level.

When 66KV wind farms become more mature, both planned and awarded projects will adopt the 66KV scheme. So in order to maintain international competitiveness. Chinese cable companies are brave enough to break through innovation, align with the international market, and have become the first country to develop 66KV high-voltage wind power torsion cables. Second in the world and first in Asia, China's cable industry is at the forefront of the world.
The 66KV scheme has obvious advantages compared to the early 33KV scheme, reducing the cost of offshore wind farms. Once it is introduced, it will definitely be recognized and affirmed by the market. Experts predict that the European tourism market will be fully upgraded to the 66KV voltage scheme starting in 2019.
As a leading Chinese cable company, they will once again seize the opportunity and lead the industry in this era of wind farm transformation.
