Cable is now a very important raw material in many industries. Ordinary cables are generally composed of four parts, including inner conductor, insulator, outer conductor, and outer sheath. Copper is the most commonly used metal material as a cable conductor.
Purple copper, also known as red copper, is named after its purple red color. It is copper with a certain oxygen content, while anaerobic copper strip is pure copper without oxygen. However, in reality, it still contains a certain amount of trace elements. The general industry requirements are that as long as the oxygen content is below 0.02%, the trace element content is below 0.05%, and the copper content is above 99.95%, it will be defined as anaerobic copper strip.
According to the purity level of copper, oxygen free copper strips are also divided into TU1 and TU2 levels. The copper purity of TU1 level should be above 99.99%, and TU2 level should be above 99.95%.

Purple copper or oxygen free copper strips have excellent conductivity, thermal conductivity, and stability. Therefore, conductors are generally made of purple copper or oxygen free copper tape. With the continuous progress and development of technology, our cable industry has increasingly high requirements for cable copper strips, which will require the produced copper strips to be thinner, longer in length, and have higher accuracy requirements.
The following are the latest national standards for cable copper strips:
In the current GB/T11091-2014 standard, compared to GB/T11091-2005:
① Added TU3, TUP0.003 grades and corresponding codes C10200 and C10300;
② The upper limit of the thickness range of the strip has been adjusted from "0.7mm" to "0.8mm";
③ Adjust the lower limit of the strip width range from "20mm" to "15mm";
④ Modified the allowable deviation of strip thickness;
⑤ Modified the allowable deviation of strip width and added high-precision regulations;
Below is a compilation of the current standards and regulations for copper tapes used in cables, which is convenient for everyone to check at any time.
