The water tree phenomenon is the cause of many cable damages, and in severe cases, it can lead to cable breakdown. The process of water tree formation takes about 8 years or more, and the higher the humidity, temperature, and voltage in the environment, the faster the water tree formation will occur.

So what are the common causes of cable water ingress?
