According to the differences in operation at different voltages, cables can be roughly divided into 5 categories:
Weak voltage cables (below 450/750V) Low voltage cables (0.6/1KV) Medium voltage cables (3-35KV) High voltage cables (35-110KV)
Ultra high voltage cable (110KV-750KV)

Below are the differences between these power cables:
Low voltage cables: Low voltage cables are generally produced using polyvinyl chloride, as well as cross-linked polyethylene. Therefore, low-voltage cables are further divided into cross-linked and ordinary types, while other power cables do not have this distinction. They are all cross-linked cables
The purpose of low-voltage cables is to connect low-voltage power sources and equipment, including control cables, communication cables, and signal cables, all of which belong to low-voltage cables.
And high-voltage cables, due to their large transmission capacity, are also widely used in fields such as power, construction, mining, transportation, and so on
Ultra high voltage cable is a type of power cable that has emerged due to the increasing human activities and the demand for long-distance transmission. It represents the latest high-tech transmission technology of humanity.

The role of cables is indispensable today, whether it is in the universe, seabed, mountains, basins, human activities, industrial production, transportation economy, etc. It seems that cables have their presence. The demand for clean energy such as electricity by humans will only grow in the future, as global oil reserves become increasingly scarce. As a transmitter between electrical and power supply equipment, the role of cables will also become increasingly important.
Of course, such important cables can also have problems. In order not to affect daily production operations, cables need to be regularly inspected and maintained. So, what are the common cable maintenance items?
Load detection
The load detection of cables is to prevent the line voltage from exceeding the rated voltage of the cable, because long-term loads can cause great harm to the cable and accelerate the aging of the cable insulation.
Temperature detection
If a cable malfunctions, it is usually accompanied by an increase in temperature, so temperature detection of the cable is also necessary.
Corrosion detection
Corrosion can be divided into two types: point corrosion and chemical corrosion. As many cables are buried underground, they are prone to corrosion by acidic and alkaline substances in the soil. Therefore, regular corrosion testing is necessary.
In addition to the three routine tests mentioned above, factors such as fire prevention, external damage, and animal bites should also be taken into consideration, and hidden dangers should be regularly eliminated.
