Scientists have discovered cable bacteria with high conductivity

Author:Henan Shenghua Cable Click: Time:2019-10-22 00:00:00

Recently, scientists from Europe have discovered a very special type of bacteria that can provide electricity on their own and transmit electricity through wires. Because its functional characteristics are similar to those of everyday cables, discoverers refer to it as cable bacteria

According to the discovered scientists, this is a type of bacteria from the ocean that has a conductive fiber network. Its function is similar to that of the copper core in the cables produced by Henan Shenghua Cable, which can transport electric current. This discovery has profound implications for the future development of new materials science.

This newly discovered cable bacterium is only centimeters in length and its body structure is composed of thousands of cells. It was discovered by scientists several years ago, but no one was able to prove that it can conduct electricity. Now, scientists from Europe have confirmed this.

The reason why cable bacteria can withstand high currents is due to the special structure inside their bodies. The cell wall of cable bacteria contains a parallel fiber network that extends along the entire length of the bacteria. When this fiber structure is placed on the electrode setting, high currents can be seen.

The high conductivity of cable bacteria is due to the presence of fiber networks.

In our past understanding, we know that biomaterials such as proteins and fats have very poor electrical conductivity. Therefore, this discovery will bring huge opportunities for the development of new material technologies.

For example, one day in the future, our electronic products will be biodegradable materials, greatly reducing the generation of electronic waste. For example, it can be used in the medical field, and after being applied to the human body, it will be automatically absorbed by the human body. In short, the discovery of this cable bacterium brings infinite possibilities for future electronic engineering and new materials fields.
