On October 29th, the National Energy Administration introduced the current energy and economic situation of the country at a press conference in Beijing. Through continuous reform, China's energy supply guarantee capacity has been significantly improved.

Reverse the downward trend of crude oil production
In the first three quarters of this year, in terms of increasing oil and gas reserves, domestic crude oil production reached 143 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, reversing the downward trend of three consecutive years; The natural gas production was 127.7 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, an increase of 3.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Orderly release of high-quality coal production capacity. 40 newly approved modern large and medium-sized coal mines with a construction scale of 196 million tons. The power supply capacity has been further enhanced. The newly added installed power generation capacity is 64.55 million kilowatts, with non fossil energy generation accounting for 56% of the new installed capacity.

The proportion of electricity consumption continues to increase
Electricity is a clean, safe, and convenient secondary energy source. The level of electrification in a country is an important indicator of its level of economic and social modernization. Compared with developed countries, China's per capita electricity consumption is relatively low, and the future development space is very broad. Accelerating the implementation of electricity substitution is of great significance for promoting the implementation of the energy revolution strategy, promoting clean energy development, and reducing air pollution.
In 2017 and 2018, the national electricity substitution volume reached 128.6 billion kilowatt hours and 157.7 billion kilowatt hours, respectively, accounting for 2.0% and 2.3% of the total social electricity consumption that year; The proportion of electricity consumption in terminal energy has increased from 22.9% in 2015 to 25.5% in 2018, with an average annual increase of nearly 0.87 percentage points. In the first three quarters of this year, electricity substitution maintained a rapid growth, with a total substitution volume of 160 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of over 30%, accounting for 3% of the total electricity consumption in society. By sector, the proportion of electricity substitution in industries, transportation, residential life, and agriculture accounts for 59%, 8%, 7%, and 3%, respectively. From an industrial perspective, the total proportion of electricity substitution for metallurgical electric furnaces, auxiliary electric power, building materials electric kilns, industrial electric boilers, and other industries is close to 55%.
Significant improvement in wind abandonment phenomenon
With the deepening of green and low-carbon transformation, the proportion of non fossil energy installed capacity and power generation in China has further increased. Data shows that in the first three quarters, the proportion of non fossil energy installed capacity and power generation of power plants with a capacity of 6000 kilowatts and above in China reached 37.2% and 28.2%, respectively, an increase of 0.8 percentage points and 1.5 percentage points compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the consumption of renewable energy continues to improve. In the first three quarters, the effective water energy utilization rate of major river basins in China was 95.9%, an increase of 3.3 percentage points year-on-year; The national wind curtailment rate is 4.2%, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5 percentage points, a significant improvement compared to the same period last year; The abandonment rate was 1.9%, a year-on-year decrease of 1 percentage point.
